Safeguarding and Reportable Incidents — Recognising, Responding to and Reporting Harm (NDIS)

Harm to people with disability is preventable when the people supporting them know how to recognise it, respond to it, record it and report it. This practical course builds that capability for support workers and their supervisors. It covers what safeguarding means and your duty to protect; the forms of abuse, neglect and exploitation and their warning signs; how to respond to and support a person who discloses; your provider’s incident management system; and the NDIS reportable incident categories, timeframes and reporting chain. Every lesson ends with a realistic, fictional scenario.
