Participant information — especially health and disability details — is sensitive, and protecting it is both a legal duty and a core part of dignified support. This practical course builds privacy capability for support workers and their supervisors. It covers why privacy matters and the law in plain terms; collecting, using and consenting to information properly; keeping information secure in homes, the community and on devices; sharing on a need-to-know basis and in emergencies; access, accuracy and records; and recognising, responding to and reporting privacy breaches. Every lesson ends with a realistic, fictional scenario.

This course is an educational aid for the care sector, not legal advice or a substitute for your organisation’s privacy policy and supervision. It is non-accredited; no CPD points or accreditation are claimed. Content current as of 26 July 2026. v1.0. Reviewed and approved by Clarity Care’s AHPRA-registered clinician, 26 July 2026.
