Infection Prevention and Control Essentials for Care Teams — Infection prevention and control (IPC) is everyday work in care — hand hygiene, PPE, clean equipment and knowing what to do when someone is unwell. This course gives your support workers and nurses the standard precautions they apply with every participant, every shift, and the confidence to step them up when needed.

Who it’s for: NDIS and aged-care support workers, community and SIL staff, and the supervisors who lead them.

What you’ll be able to do: break the chain of infection, apply standard precautions and the 5 Moments for Hand Hygiene, choose and use PPE correctly, keep the environment clean and handle sharps, waste, linen and spills safely, step up to transmission-based precautions, and recognise, respond to and report infections and outbreaks.

Six lessons, 25 topics, with a knowledge check and a real-world scenario in every lesson, a self-contained chain-of-infection diagram, and a printable infection-control quick card, plus end-of-lesson quizzes and a final quiz. All guidance is cited to the NHMRC/ACSQHC Australian Guidelines, Hand Hygiene Australia, and the NDIS Practice Standards.
